Is it possible to change your face shape? Or to firm it up and make it sharper?
I wanted to experiment and try to create a sharper and smaller looking face for myself in a month using different tools and techniques together to see if my face will transform itself and if I can attain the elusive 'V' line~
What is a V-line?
Well, peoples jaws all have different shapes and all of them are lovely but the most sought after shape [at least in the Asian perspective] is a jaw line that resembles a 'v'~ A lot of celebrities and idols are known to have a 'V' shape face and some even go under the knife ie; reconstructive surgery or fillers to have their jaws shaped into the v-line~
Now before you try to attain this shape, without surgery, try to see if your face naturally has lines similar to a v line~ Mine is more of a 'U' shape so I thought that this experiment would work well on me.
Here a few before pictures taken on July 24th, 2012.

I must say that from a farther perspective my jaw does appear sharper and more tapered and has more definition. Also my baby double chin has receded quite a bit!
Even in person my friends have noticed the difference in my jaw shape and attest that it makes me look slimmer, which is quite lovely to hear~
What I did to attain a more V-lined face:
SANO by Noe
vir Group Isoflavone Skin system with Co enzyme Q-10
The Sana Nameraka series is made of fermented extracts of organic soy beans which are rich sources of isoflavones. Hydrating, skin firming and rich in nutrients, Sana Nameraka becomes one of the best selling lines in Japan and in Asia.

I used the Foaming cleanser, Moisturizing Toner and Moisturizer~
Foaming Cleanser: I REALLY love the cleanser in this system and a little goes a long way. The cream foams up very quickly and is really fun to rub across your skin. After I rinse it off my skin is very squeaky clean, and I really mean 'squeaky' clean and my skin feels very firm and elastic, which may sound funny but it's the best way to describe it.
Moisturizing Toner: It's more of a water/milk really which kind of surprised me. It had none of that astringent or alcohol feel to it on my skin and felt very calming to my skin. After rubbing it into my skin and neck, I gently patted it down and it felt kind of sticky for a while, but nothing very odd. My skin felt very clean and nothing heavy or oily really left behind.
Moisturizer: I think the moisturizer was the key to the system, it felt very nice on my skin, a bit oily so I just used it at night as a night cream, but it immediately reduced redness in my skin, minimized my pores before my eyes and brightened my skin. I really like it!
The system as a whole did what it was supposed to, firm my skin and kind of reverse time on it and reduce some of the damage I've done to it from my tanning I used to do.
The amazingly pleasant thing that I didn't expect it to do was to remove almost all of my fine lines! Especially on my forehead which was something I've always been quite conscious of!Even my laugh lines have diminished quite noticeably and the small crows feet I've been developing vanished!
I really wish I did before and after of those things, because it was amazing!
The only issue I has was that from the end of the first week to the end of the 2nd week on the system I developed REALLY bad acne, like the worst I've ever seen, but that was when I was using the moisturizer in the morning and evening. When I only used it as a night cream, the acne receded and the following week, I guess my skin accumulated to the system [and I also once a week used a good exfoliator in the morning].
The next thing is I tried to finish 2 bottles of water a day and drank a lot of green tea. Not only does that reduce bloating but it's good for keeping your skin supple and moisturized!
The third and most fun item I started using was this 'V' line face roller which is super cheap and easy to find in your local Asian market or even on ebay!
Yes, it probably looks like some weird torture device but it's not~
What it does is it is supposed to massage your face into shape, which maybe guides the face into a V- line? Hahah, I'm actually not really sure if this helped though but it was cheap and fun to use every night!
I rolled my face while online or watching TV before I slept for roughly 10-20 minutes.
The last steps I applied were daily facial exercises~
I'd spend maybe 5-8 minutes in the morning and even when I was driving in the car just doing face exercises.
I had 3 that I practiced regularly:
First exercise: 'OOO' [no picture because it's kind of ugly]
But starting with a neutral and relaxed mouth and face bring your lips into a semi pucker/whistle/'ooo' shape and hold it for 3 seconds. Then let your lips and face relax again. Repeat for a minute.
Second exercise: Kissy face
Pucker your lips then, like above, slide your puckered lips form one side to the other. I'd do this for maybe 3 or 4, 30 second intervals. Easy right?
My final exercise which I love is: Tilted tongue taps
Tilt your head back slightly and with your tongue firmly tap the tip behind your upper teeth on that hard ridge on the top of your mouth.. [I encourage you to feel with your tongue behind your teeth and slide it slightly back, you'll feel a slightly harder ridge on the top of your mouth, that is where I want you to concentrate tapping the tip of your tongue.] So you'll firmly tap then relax your tongue, then tap and relax~ All while your head is slightly tilted. I tend to keep at that for a minute then I'll do another exercise and repeat that again.
You can feel under your jaw how your tongue muscle is contracting, which I assume firms up the area under your jaw where you start developing that baby double chin.
I feel like these exercises were very helpful to making my jaw sharper and more defined.
I'm pretty sure all of the steps [rather than the face roller] aided me.
I'm not sure if you can even really see the difference in the pictures but I know that I can see it!
So I'd say that the one month 'V' line challenge was a success!
What do you think?
I know that I had fun looking up different techniques and ways to attain the v-line shape!
