Blinc Mascara Review

Since I ran out of my favorite mascara the other day, I decided to venture to Sephora to try out a new mascara~
The trends this year seem to be fiber and enriching mascaras, which I have no interest in...
My interest is in waterproof mascaras that wont irritate contacts~
Low and behold I came across this baby, Blinc, Blinc mascara!

Lovingly stolen off Sephora's page [mainly because it has the description from the bottle written out for me:
What it is:
The famous pioneering, tube-technology water-resistant mascara.

What it does:
Blinc Mascara is the original tube-technology mascara. It's invented to form tiny water-resistant "tubes" around your lashes for maximum amplification and hold, rather than painting them like conventional mascaras. Once applied, the tubes bind to your lashes and don't run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes.

What else you need to know:
This mascara adds both volume and length, to give you a radiant natural look that lasts all day. Neither water nor pressure alone will remove Blinc Mascara. Only the combination of lots of warm water and gentle pressure (no need for harsh makeup removers) will slide the tiny tubes effortlessly off your lashes into your hand. Upon removal, you will actually see the tiny tubes slide into your hand.

Among the nominees in the 2008 Best of Sephora, Blinc Mascara has been clinically tested to be non-irritating, making it ideal for sensitive eyes, contact lens wearers, and active people in search of a mascara whose look, hold, and ease of removal is without compromise.

Well, The description of the product made the $26 USD seem like a worth it spend.
Above are my results.
The mascara made a very dramatic difference to my lashes, they almost looked like lash extensions compared to my own lashes, and it really surprised me!
The only thing I dislike is that you can't build up the volume or length, and that it's VERY liquidy~ I had a few smudges waiting the 2 minutes it took to dry...
Also, I would recommend not doing your top and bottom lashes at the same time, because a few of my lashes got stuck together. I would do the top lashes first, wait for them to completely dry then coat your bottom lashes...

But, the long dry time, does make the wait worth while! The lashes are totally water proof AND smudge proof. But a slight down side to it is that your lashes feel like plastic and are pretty stiff.. But at least they look soft and feathery in person.

One thing I really love is that it's SO easy to remove!
Just wash your face in warm water, or even wet your fingers with warm water, and with a gentle pressure, ease the now tubes off of your lashes!

They look crazy when they're removed! IT's almost like little stringy hairs! But don't worry, they are not your actual lashes.
Then that's it! No eye makeup remover required!
Over all, I would give this mascara a 4.5 out of 5!
[I just don't like the dry down time....]

I think this was a good purchase, and I will most likely repurchase again!

[Also, my lenses are my new E.O.S Ice Brown lenses~ I'll be doing a review on them soon so please be on the look out for that to come!]

  3. Can you layer this mascara over or under other mascaras or will that mess up the tubes?
